“Lost Angels”

In our increasingly chaotic, noisy, and distraction-filled society, it is easy to lose focus, direction, and even hope. My work attempts to simplify the disorder by searching for clarity and ultimately, life’s purpose and meaning.
Each piece, acting as ‘hieroglyphs for the soul,’ is a visual narrative exploring the struggle of the human experience. They invite viewers to reflect on their own journeys, finding connection in the shared experiences of adversity and growth.
Many of these recurrent themes are rooted in lessons from my Helsinki-born mother. She instilled in me the Finnish concept of SISU, embodying stoicism, determination, tenacity, and grit. Additionally, the Japanese proverb, “Fall down seven times, get up eight,” weaves through my work, offering a sense of resilience and hope.
Bob Boyle is an Emmy Award-winning animation creator and producer for Disney, Nickelodeon, Netflix, Cartoon Network, Sesame Street, and others. While he loves making cartoons for kids, he also feels a pull to create art that tackles deeper themes, guiding his exploration of personal humanity and purpose.
