FINDINGS KEEPERS

To kick-off our Cooper Building Blog Series, we had the opportunity to sit down and connect with one of our legendary showrooms, Findings.  Findings is the brainchild of, Dierdre Roffoni who’s been a force in the fashion industry.  The Cooper Building proudly introduces you to Dierdre from Findings Showroom:

Where did your love for fashion, specifically women’s contemporary fashion, come from?

My mother was very fashionable. I was raised in a small town in Central California so shopping trips to Los Angeles was always a highlight for me. The former I. Magnin and Bullock’s Wilshire department stores were my stomping grounds.

What part of your day-to-day do you look forward to most?

Morning calls with my showrooms. I love being brought up to date with the most current events and happenings, so mornings are the best part of my day.

When selecting lines to carry in your showroom, what do you look for?

Aside from the aesthetic of a collection, the infrastructure and experience of the team behind the brand is as important as the product itself.

What would you say is the “secret sauce” to your business (without giving too much away)?

I am fortunate enough to have a loyal and experienced staff who have developed strong relationships with both our clients and manufacturers. This is the key to our success.

You’ve seen the LA Fashion District change?  What part of the change do you love most?  Love least?

I love the fact that LA is an easy market to shop. Our buyers appreciate the walkability/close proximity of all the Downtown showrooms (a one-stop shopping destination). The development of boutique hotels and great restaurants is also a plus for our clients. Missing from the LA Fashion District is a sense of unity and community.

Any words of inspo you have for others looking to follow in your footsteps?

In the words of Tim Ferriss : “What we fear doing most is usually what we most need to do.” ...
