A Little About Metta Showroom
Isabella from Metta Showroom was kind enough to answer a few questions about life at Cooper Design Space. Step into the Mettaverse!
What is Metta Showroom?
Metta is more than a showroom. We partner with like-minded brands in our aim to change the status quo of the fashion industry. Specializing in a new era of coastal style, our approach is digital-first to ensure our brands thrive in this brave new world.
We represent killer contemporary, bridge, resort wear and denim brands that have a unique voice in their respective markets. We love to work with brands that are mission-driven (i.e. female-founded, sustainable, charitable). These include both household name brands as well as fresh and groundbreaking international brands-- all in our cohesive space on the 4th floor of the Cooper Design Building.
What are some of the more memorable exhibitions/brands you’ve hosted?
Our most memorable exhibition was March 2023 LA Market where we debuted our remodeled showroom at the Cooper! Our team worked hard to make a beautiful space where our brands and buyers can feel at home. We are looking forward to hosting future market weeks and events in our little city oasis, Suite 419!
What brought you to the Cooper Design Space and what do you like about it?
When first looking to open our showroom, we were looking for a building that had incredible staff, business support, a thriving community, and of course beautiful spaces! There was no better option for us than Cooper Design Space.
What does the future hold for you and Metta?
Metta strives to build a better business and grow year over year. We are always looking to evolve our selling technique and nurture our buyer relationships, whether that be new trade shows, digital tools, or software. We believe that the wholesale industry is due for new innovation and transparency and are thrilled to be pioneers in our field!
What lines are coming that you’re excited for people to see?
We are proud to have our longest relationships with brands like Lavender Brown, Fidelity Denim, and Lucca. Without partnerships like these we would not be where we are today! Some of the newest lines entering Metta Showroom are:
SIXXTA: A sustainable, size inclusive Columbian brand stamped/printed by hand on natural fibers. Sixxta has several omni-brand stores in their native country of Columbia and the brand is family-owned and run by a husband/wife duo!
My Beachy Side: A cult favorite, sustainable luxury resortwear known for its notable collaborations like with the TV show Emily in Paris. The line can be found at the best resorts worldwide and is available on Revolve, Saks 5th Avenue, and Anthropologie. Gamze Ates founded My Beachy Side in 2015 to bring sustainable, fair trade practices to her creative vision, sparked by a love of the traditional crochet made in her native Turkey. The company’s strategy focuses on responsible business practices across all functions: from enriching individual artisans to reducing industrial waste.
First Born Knits: A luxurious, bespoke Australian knitwear label with a conscience. Karolina Kroze, the designer, creates each collection from natural fibers and for the contemporary individual who demands only the finest quality.
